We won the gold! Moto & Oso talk Turmeric!

We won the gold! Moto & Oso talk Turmeric!

Genna Sandler

Oso here! Back with our second Dog Blog! I kinda like the sound of that.  The last month flew by! I ate lots of treats, hung with my foster brother, Sprout and even helped at one of the Fur Babe’s events (until I fell asleep in the sun)!

We’ve moved into my favorite time of year!  When the sun stays out longer. I can sun my buns outside a little longer!  With that comes warmer weather and I don’t know why but changes in the temperature sometimes make me feel more achy.

Since we’re just getting to know each other, I’ll let you in on a little secret.  It’s not something I tell EVERYONE, but for my fur babe friends, we’re family…so here it goes…When I was 2, (my mom tells people I’m 7 now), I had hip surgery.  My hip always gave me pain ever since I was little and eventually it dislocated.  Let me tell you…10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.  So, with this hip stuff, I sometimes get a bit stiffer, I feel aches and I limp here and there.

Mom says it’s “inflammation” and she has tried A LOT OF THINGS.  I have been to specialists, I get these small needles in my hip and neck area, it feels good but it’s kind of scary.  I had to go into a big tank with some water and was forced, FORCED TO WALK!  I am a more let’s lay down and lounge kinda pup, ya know?

What’s helped is certain treats I eat and my diet.  Thankfully, I know the best of the best and what lucky pups are we, because there’s been a new treat in the doghouse!  I overheard my mom talking to Maria and will let you in on a little secret.  This new treat has turmeric! I don’t know what the heck that is, but IT IS GOOD!  For me, it felt better in my body, and I guess can help my inflammation?  Don’t quote me but again, our humans were talking about it. I just quietly listen.  They can’t understand when I talk anyways, haha!

Since I’m in my silver paw years, taking care of myself is important.  Thankfully my pal Moto understands the struggle.  We can relate.  We both like to overeat and oversleep. I mean, WHO DOESN’T?!

I’ll let Moto explain even more about turmeric, because, I mean he does live with Maria, who mindfully crafts together our yum yums with her very own paws….oops, I mean hands!

Hey Oso! This month has zipped by! Mom has been going to lots of events and I have to say I'm a little jealous when she gets home cuz she gives away all the treats. She says she sells them, but they're still gone.

I like the sunshine too but it's too hot for me and my big fur coat so mom only takes me for walks in the morning and evening when it's cooler.

I got to taste the new treats with the turmeric and lemme tell you they are grrrrreat! I can even see them in color cuz they are a golden and you know we see yellows and blues the best.

Mom says my sisters and I are elders. I have no idea what that means but I think it means we're special. She's been researching a lot on the computer to find the best stuff to give us to help with inflammation. She uses all these big words I don't understand but I guess turmeric is something that's good for all of us especially us elders. She found that turmeric is great for inflammation and has antioxidants. It's good for arthritis and joint pain and I know a little about that! I have some issues with my leg. Mom likes to give us natural stuff so she's always looking for healthy stuff to put in our treats. All I know is they are yummmmmo!

I'm not an expert on all this stuff but mom said the link below will explain it better. She tried to read it to me, but I fell asleep. Actually, a nap sounds pretty good right now, so until next time.... I'm gonna go dream about turmeric butterfly treats!
